Bart Bell is a French composer and sound designer. His compositional work, rooted in an experimental approach, blends electroacoustic, drone, dark ambient, and noise. Guided by his unique instrument, he weaves psychedelic and electric soundscapes where chaos and transcendence intertwine.
Focused on listening as a creative process, his hybrid practice combines field recording, organ, acoustic and electronic instruments, and sound design. Through this distinctive form of writing, he composes ambiguous narrative landscapes, between abstraction and storytelling, akin to a film without images.
Through his projects for cinema, he develops a sonic language in which music, real-world sounds, and sound design merge subtly, blurring the boundaries between narration and abstraction. This approach extends to his collaborations in dance, sound installations, and live performances, where he explores sound as material in relation to space and time.
