MUSC

Sound composition and sonic environment

MUSC is a sound piece created for Musc, a multimedia installation by Pooya Abassian, presented as part of the artist’s solo exhibition In Dubio Pro Reo at the Pavillon Carré de Baudouin in Paris (September to December 2025).

The composition was conceived as an atmospheric extension of the installation, developing a dense sonic environment where slow evolving textures, resonant frequencies and spatial vibrations interact with the visual and sculptural elements of the work. The sound unfolds as a suspended landscape, shaping the perception of space and reinforcing the contemplative and ambiguous atmosphere of the installation.

The project also gave rise to a live performance presented on October 11, 2025, where the sonic material of the installation was expanded and reinterpreted in a performative setting. Through live processing and the exploration of resonant metallic textures, the performance extended the installation into a temporal experience, transforming the exhibition space into a living acoustic environment.
